About Danielle

Danielle is passionate about yoga, practicing for almost eight years and concentrating on her Mysore Ashtanga Practice for three years now. Danielle recently returned home to Dublin after completing two and a half years travelling and working abroad.

Setting up to live and work in Sydney with her boyfriend Rob Smyth http://robsmythletstrain.com/was a life changing experience – having both left Dublin with roles in Interior Design and Construction, they embraced the healthy lifestyle Sydney had to offer, giving them opportunities to follow their dreams in the health, fitness and wellness industry.

Having an interest in yoga led Danielle to work with leading Yoga Apparel Store Lululemon Athletica. www.lululemon.com  This inspiring and motivating role, gave Danielle the opportunity to look seriously at her life goals. Goal setting is a big part of the lululemon culture and Danielle was introduced and supported in her goals by the supporting team in the Mosman Store, Sydney. Working there also gave Danielle the opportunity to try many styles of Yoga, test out classes and teaching styles.

Danielle had always loved learning about the yogic philosophy and had a particular interest in Ashtanga yoga, especially after spending a blissful month in Ubud with Prem & Radha at Ashtanga World Bali. www.ashtangaworld.com   Her time in Bali was particularly fundamental to her next few years; it opened the possibility of following her dreams and gave her a yearning to learn more about the ancient practice of Ashtanga Yoga. Danielle set a goal to complete a Yoga Teacher Training course. Researching the courses available, Yoga Thailand stood out as one of the best out there. Getting the opportunity to train with Paul Dallaghan of Centered Yoga www.centeredyoga.com  and completing the RYS 200 hour Teacher Training was an uplifting and yet another pivotal part of Danielle’s journey. The intensive month incorporated Pranayama (breathing) Asana Practice (postures) Philosophy, Chanting, Anatomy Study, Detox & Healthy Eating Plan, formal instruction on adjusting and teaching skills to name a few. Check out my Blog about this at: http://blog.travelpod.com/travel-blog-entries/rob-danielle/1/1299940754/tpod.html. It was at the final exam where Danielle found her passion for teaching, and getting such a buzz from the class, led to a new goal: To Teach Yoga!

Following their year spent in Sydney, Rob and Danielle Spent 9 months in Asia – travelling fromJapantoChinaand all the way down toSingaporeby land, then returning toBalito spend another magical month-intensive with Prem and Radha in Ubud. This time spent inAsiagave Danielle great insight to the yoga scene, getting to go to various yoga classes and workshops. On top of this they also travelled Europe,South America,New Zealand,USAandCanada– 29 countries in total – always seeking out an adventure or a wonderful studio and new classes to try!

Now back home in Dublin it is time for Danielle to pass on some of that knowledge and achieve her goal of teaching.
